Ken has been perming June's hair for over 60 years. He started doing it when she was 16 and came into his parents hair salon in Folkestone.
A few years later they married and after the war, they ran the salon together. Ken was a keen amateur documentary-maker and recorded a day in the life of the salon in colour super-8 in the seventies.
Until their deaths, within three days of each other this year Ken had, despite June's protestations at times, still permed her hair every week.

An unsentimental story of enduring love.
